Violets are Blue sign up is designed to be simple, safe, and streamlined. Every user will have exactly 5 photos and have to answer 3-5 question prompts with fun example ideas for both sections. And once we verify you are a current NYU undergrad, you're minutes away from making all kinds of new connections within your community!
1. Create an account
Click this link and enter your full name associated with NYU, your NYU net ID (exp123), undergraduate school + intended major, and graduation term. Your net ID will only be used to verify that you are an NYU undergraduate student and will not be visible to anyone else. You will be able to change your "First Name" later on if you use a nickname or go by something different.
2. Get verified
Once your account is created, Violets Are Blue will verify that you are a current undergraduate student at NYU and approve your account to the next step. This enhances user safety, creates a more curated and local user pool, and increases the relevance of matches guaranteed to be fellow NYU students.
3. Create your profile
Add 5 photos of you and answer 3-5 prompts. We also ask for basic information such as age, gender identity, and languages spoken. Optional academic information such as favorite NYU study spot, current courses, career aspirations​, and preferred study style (solo, group, quiet environment, background noise, etc). Optional personal interests such as hobbies, sports or fitness activities, and favorites: NYC spots, cuisine, music genres, movies/TV shows, or books/authors.
4. Select preferences
Choose which kind of connection you are looking for. For romantic connections specify your sexual orientation, for platonic specify your extracurricular interests you want to do with new friends, and for academic specify your intended major and specific courses you are currently taking that you want to study for with others!
